SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A man is in police custody Saturday, after a standoff on a boat near Shelter Island.
Harbor police responded to a report of domestic violence, just before midnight.
A female victim was on the deck of a vessel, while the male suspect was below holding their 5-month-old baby.
Initially he was uncooperative, but after more than an hour the suspect, identified by authorities as 43-year-old Isaac Cole, was taken into custody.
Cole faces a number of charges, including attempted murder via strangulation, cruelty to a child and resisting arrest.
