SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - If you live in San Diego, you have certainly seen commercials or trucks for Anderson Plumbing Heating and Air. Did you know that the company recently celebrated their 40th anniversary and surpassed $30 million a year in sales?

To celebrate the two milestones, owner and president Mary Jean Anderson wrote a memoir called "Here Comes Cannonball". The book touches on everything from her family coming to America from Italy to being a young entrepreneur to creating a $30 million a year company.

Anderson also talks about the shortage of good, qualified plumbers in the workforce today. Because of this, Anderson created the Anderson Career Builder Institute which trains people to apprentice in trades. Perhaps the best part? If you are accepted into the program, there is no cost to you AND you earn a salary while training to become a plumber!

Mary Jean Anderson came by the News 8 studios to talk about her business successes and about her new book.
