SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) — Several calls have came into News 8 Thursday reporting a mysterious boom and rumbling heard around San Diego.
Calls came in from all over San Diego, especially from East and South counties.
KFMB Stations received calls, emails and messages from dozens of viewers.
As of Thursday night, the cause of the sound and rumbling wasn't confirmed, however the Navy confirmed that the USS Carl Vinson was doing training exercises 100 miles off San Diego's coast around 11 a.m. But they cannot confirm that the noise was a result.
Meteorologists say that low atmospheric pressure can make noises at sea sound louder on land.
