SAN DIEGO — Did you know there’s a trend-setting color picked out every year? The Pantone Color Institute does just that and they have chosen Peach Fuzz as the color of 2024.
Peach Fuzz emerges as the defining hue of 2024, poised to adorn clothing, appliances, home furnishings, and permeate every aspect of our surroundings.
According to The Pantone Color Institute, the team analyzes color trends year-round to select the color of the year, considering various societal aspects such as fashion, marketing, social media, and even political influences.
They've done this since 2000.
"We are always very excited to find out what the color is going to be," said San Diego Mesa College's Professor of Fashion, Lyndsey Johnson. "I love peach fuzz because it invokes warmth, friendliness, positivity and anyone can wear and feel and look their best. I’m excited to see what students choose to do with this color!"
Fashion students are expected to incorporate peach fuzz in their designs and upcoming shows.
"It not only sets the tone for fashion, it also does for home, textiles, make up, and everything! Expect to see a lot of peach!" said Johnson.
She’s right, even major beauty companies, like Huda Beauty, are already embracing the peach fuzz tones in their products and collections.
"It goes with a lot. It goes great with jeans, white or denim, khaki, neutrals, also good with neutrals. I feel like it’s a color that looks good on so many people. It's gender-neutral. You will see it all over the place," said Johnson.
