(CBS 8) - A dramatic new public service announcement from the Navy warns sailors about the dangers of drugs known as bath salts.
The video features an actor playing a sailor who gets high on the synthetic drugs. He sees other sailors as demons and punches his girlfriend.
Lieutenant George Loeffler, a psychiatrist at the Naval Medical Center here in San Diego, appears in the video describing the dangers of using the drugs.
"Bath salts not only will jack up your family and your career, it will jack up your mind and your body too," Loeffler says in the video.
Officials say bath salts are popular with the troops because they are inexpensive and readily available.
