SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - SeaWorld's new Aquatica water park is on track for a summer opening.
The water park is being built at the site of the old Knott's Soak City in Chula Vista. It will features several different types of water slides, a lazy river and 43,000 square feet of sandy beaches.
"It's a resort-like experience with beaches, personal cabanas, amenities that you would find at a beachside-type resort and attractions that parents and children can participate in at the same time," Aquatica Vice President David Cromwell said.
The park will also feature several up-close animal encounters with flamingos and fresh water turtles.
Aquatica is set to open this summer.
