CHULA VISTA (CBS 8/CNS) - A vague and apparently unfounded telephone threat prompted an hour-long lockdown at Castle Park High School Tuesday, authorities reported.
Someone called in the threat to the Hilltop Drive campus about 10:15 a.m., said Manny Rubio, communications director for Sweetwater Union High School District.
The unidentified perpetrator made an unspecified comment "to the effect that something (bad) was going to happen" at the school, Rubio said.
Teachers kept all students secured in their classrooms while Chula Vista police searched the campus. Officers found no hazards and made no arrests.
