SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 28-year-old man has died at the scene and his female passenger was hospitalized after their vehicle ran over a cliff in Ocean Beach Saturday morning.
The accident occurred on the 1700 block of Bacon Street, at 12:25 a.m., San Diego Police Department Officer Robert Heims said.
Heims said the vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe, was being driven south at high speed on Bacon and missed the left turn onto Coronado Avenue.
The Chevy crashed through the guard rail and a chain link fence, landing upside down, a fall of about 100 feet, Heims said.
The 24-year-old female passenger was expected to survive, Heims said.
