SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department is warning residents to remove dead eucalyptus trees from their property to reduce fire danger.
Officials say they've seen an increase in dead trees over the past few months due to drought, insect infestation and disease.
The fire district is now sending out violation notices to all property owners with dead or diseased trees on their property. If the trees aren't cut down, fire district crews will remove the trees themselves and charge the property owners.
