SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) -- The Pacific Beach Holiday Parade has fallen victim to the poor economy.
The event was canceled after more than two decades of bringing holiday cheer.
The sponsor, Discover Pacific Beach, said it had to call off the parade after raising only half of the $25,000 necessary to host it.
Discover Pacific Beach is working with Crystal Pier Hotel and Cottages for a tree-lighting event on Dec. 13, the day on which the parade would have been held.
