SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — Ballots have arrived for the nearly 2 million registered voters in San Diego County.
The Registrar’s office says that it may take more time than usual to vote and they recommend voting early due to the high number of contests on this year's ballot.
You can vote from home and return your ballot through the mail – no postage needed – but your signature is required on the return envelope for your vote to count.
"Seal your ballot inside your security return envelope, sign that envelope and return it to a trusted source. When I say trusted source I mean through the US Postal Service or any one of our 150 official ballot drop boxes which open Tuesday, October 8," said Registrar of Voters Cynthia Paes.
Drop boxes will remain open through the final day of voting, Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Paes said voter turnout is expected to be anywhere from 80 to 84 percent. Turnout is typically higher for presidential elections, she added.
When will I receive my ballot?
Voters should have received their ballots via mail the week of October 7. If you lost your ballot or need a new one, head to San Diego County's Registrar of Voters to apply for a replacement.
Voting in person
You can vote in person at the Registrar of Voters office in Kearny Mesa from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Additional options will begin Saturday, Oct. 26 at 39 vote centers. They will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, over 200 vote centers will be open. All of the locations will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 4. On the final day of voting, Tuesday, Nov. 5, all vote centers and official ballot drop boxes will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters who return their ballot through the U.S. Postal Service can track it by signing up for “Where’s My Ballot?”.
Register to vote/check your registration status
Check your voter registration to verify your political party preference, home address, and if different your mailing address. If you need to make updates, you can complete a new voter registration online.
