LOS ANGELES — A man was arrested after jumping out of a taxiing airplane at Los Angeles International Airport Friday evening.

The man opened a service door and jumped out of the United Express flight to Salt Lake City as it was pulling out from a gate at around 7:10 p.m., CBS 2 reported.

According to CBS, the man allegedly tried to open the cockpit door several times before jumping from the plane.

Airport police arrived at the scene and arrested the man with unknown injuries. His name was not released.

No one else was injured in the incident and the plane taxied back to its gate.

Airport police and the FBI were investigating the matter as a possible hijacking attempt. No further details were released.

The incident marks the second security breach at LAX in two days. A man was taken into custody at LAX Thursday after driving his car through a fence and onto a runway, leading police on a brief pursuit.

The plane was still grounded as of 9:50 p.m. on Friday evening.
