SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Even though a winter storm is rolling into San Diego, the summer camping season is just around the corner.
Massive renovations are underway at the Silver Strand State Beach.
Starting Monday, campers can make reservations at the new site, which will reopen on May 17. The campground will feature 124 campsites, larger than before, and some additional amenities.
"I'm looking forward to having water and electricity here. Because in our case, we did not have inverters, we did have a generator, but you can only run it from 10am to 8pm," camper Jim Clark said.
