Salvation Army serves up Thanksgiving meal

The Salvation Army in Escondido hosted a special Thanksgiving dinner for hundreds of San Diegans Wednesday.

ESCONDIDO (CBS 8) - The Salvation Army in Escondido hosted a special Thanksgiving dinner for hundreds of San Diegans Wednesday.

"We're like, we'll let's do what we can to provide as much food as we can for them and that's kinda what we do on a daily basis, and for Thanksgiving I thought this would be a great opportunity as well, you know, give back to the community," Lt. James Parks said.

Around 300 people enjoyed a hot turkey dinner with all the fixings earlier Wednesday.

Marines from Camp Pendleton along with church members and other volunteers served the meal.
