SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diego City Council president Tony Young confirmed to News 8 late Thursday night that he will resign his post to become CEO of the American Red Cross' San Diego and Imperial Counties Chapter.
Young currently represents Council District Four in Southeastern San Diego. He has served as Council president since December 2010.
Young says he will make a formal announcement about his resignation on Friday.
