SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - There was an amazing turnout for the annual Colleges Rock Hunger food drive Friday.
SDSU won the food drive competition, bringing in an impressive 107,000 pounds of food.
The holidays are a critical time of year for the San Diego Food Bank, when donations are down and demand increases.
Food and monetary donations can be made at several places across the county and online.
"For every dollar donation, the food bank can provide three meals to people. So it's just really an economic way of doing things," Mayor Jerry Sanders said.
