San Diego to seek state of emergency to cover flood damage

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - San Diego County suffered millions of dollars in damage in the most recent rain-storms.

The mayor issued a proclamation of local emergency last week and is expected to make it official Tuesday morning.

That means San Diego will be eligible to receive state and federal funds to help pay for the damage, including the cost it took crews to pump water out of Qualcomm Stadium.

News 8's Adrienne Moore reports with more details in this video story.
