A team of scientists spotted this hilarious, googly eyed stubby squid off the coast of California and they couldn't help themselves from bursting into laughter at the site of this adorable sea creature.
The video was shot at a depth of 2,950 feet by a research team aboard the E/V Nautilus, a research vessel that studies ocean biology, geology and archaeology and is operated by the Ocean Exploration Trust.
The stubby squid, also known as Rossia pacifica, is closely related to the cuttlefish and spends its life on the seafloor. The species primarily inhabits the Northern Pacific, from Japan to Southern California.
