SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - They're cute, they love to swim, and SeaWorld visitors can't get enough of them.
But sea otters are a threatened species. This week, SeaWorld is celebrating the furry creatures with Sea Otter Awareness Week. It recognizes the vital role sea otters play in the ecosystem.
The goal of Otter Week is to inspire the conservation of these little marine mammals.
Each year, places like SeaWorld participate in various events and activities highlighting sea otters and their natural history.
Sea Otter Awareness Week is September 22 - 28.
