Student's threat prompts extra security at Pershing Middle

An undisclosed threat at Pershing Middle School in San Carlos will mean stepped up patrols on campus Tuesday.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - An undisclosed threat at Pershing Middle School in San Carlos will mean stepped up patrols on campus Tuesday.

Principal Susan Levy issued a letter to parents saying that "threats had been made against a number of students by a fellow classmate" and that the student is being kept away from the campus.

Classes are in session and extra security and patrols have been increased on campus, but the school is said to be "safe and secure."

Due to privacy laws, no name is being released and the exact details of the threat and investigation are being withheld.

Parents were informed of the threat by Principal Levy.
