LAKE ELSINORE (CBS 8) - Traffic along I-15 near Lake Elsinore is backed up for miles after a tanker burst into flames Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. Along southbound I-15 at Lake Street. The tanker was carrying approximately 87,000 gallons of fuel. It took more than two hours for the fire to burn itself out.
The driver escaped without injury and there is no word on how the fire started.
Northbound lanes have reopened, however, southbound lanes aren't expected to reopen until 5:30 p.m.
