SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The local twin boys you're about to meet just turned 10 years old on November 1 and the best birthday gift Kris and Damien could receive is a forever family.
It's been nearly a year since we first met Kris and Damien, identical twin brothers, who effortlessly moved through the mini golf course at Boomers San Diego with lightning speed.
They were living in an emergency children's shelter at the time and in urgent need of finding a permanent home.
They were hoping their next move would be their last, saying:
“Well, it's hard to move around because you don't get all your stuff when you're moving.”
But sadly, 11 months later, Kris and Damien are still waiting to find their forever home and a home with a dog would be a great perk.
“I'd like a nice mom and a dad,” said Ddamien.
Social workers say these boys really do need a two parent household to keep up with their energy level.
After our first story aired, social workers say Kris and Damien were matched with a single parent who loves them and wishes to stay in their lives, but just couldn't manage the demands of raising active, twin 10-year-old boys.
Kris and Damien are now living in a group home and they've experienced many disappointments and trauma in their young lives, but through it all, they have always had each other to lean on.
And we are hoping luck does come their way soon- in the form of a forever family.
