SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - La Mesa residents expressed their concerns Monday after two mountain lions were spotted in an unincorporated part of the city.
The two mountain lions were casually walking around and lounging near the backyard of a home in unincorporated La Mesa. The homeowner who captured the images spoke to CBS 8 News, but asked to remain anonymous.
While the massive mountain lions were not aggressive, the bold encounter rattled nerves in the neighborhood, especially among pet owners.
People who live in mountain lion habitats can take precautions to reduce their risk of encountering the big cats by deer-proofing their home's landscape to not attract the lion's main food source.
