SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection has launched a new campaign to discourage people from trying to cross the border illegally.
The "Know the Facts" campaign targets potential immigrants and anyone living here in the U.S. who might encourage friends or relatives to cross the border illegally.
Spanish language radio spots will run in Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. They will detail the harsh risks associated with trying to cross the U.S. - Mexico border illegally.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection will also use its website and social media to dispel any misinformation about illegal immigration.
