LA JOLLA (NEWS 8) - A pod of whales put on a show at La Jolla Cove. The five orcas came within 30 feet of the lifeguard tower area Wednesday.
News 8 viewer, Grant Wright, captured the video from a business on Prospect Street.
The rare event drew dozens of excited spectators.
The whales frolicked around for about 15 minutes before turning back.
