A 10-inch concrete water main burst today in Mission Beach, damaging a roadway and forcing the closure of a busy intersection.
The break happened around 1 p.m. at Mission Boulevard and Santa Clara Place, which is the entrance to the Mission Bay Sports Center, said Arian Collins of the San Diego Water Department.
Customers from San Juan Court to Santa Clara Place were expected to be without water until about 11 p.m., but it wasn't immediately known how many people were impacted, Collins said.
Police set up detours in the area.
