SPRING VALLEY (CBS 8) - Several homes were flooded after a large water main break early Tuesday morning in Spring Valley.
Helix Water Department crews were called out to the 3800 block of Rogers Road after a six inch water line broke causing water to rush out. After they arrived on scene, crews turned the water line off immediately, but many homes in the area were still flooded and damaged as a result of the break.
News 8 spoke with one resident who was woken up by police trying to warn him about the flooding. He said the water traveled from his backyard into his living room, bedroom and kitchen.
As of this report, the Helix Water District said that at least 19 homes are without water and three homes have flood damage. They said water service should be restored by 10 a.m. Restoration crews are helping to clean up the mess.
