Ways to Make Quick Cash: Sell your old CD's

CD's are going the way of the cassette tape and the 8-track. But instead of just throwing out your old discs, here's an idea that may be music to your ears: sell your CD's for quick cash.

CD's are going the way of the cassette tape and the 8-track. But instead of just throwing out your old discs, here's an idea that may be music to your ears: sell your CD's for quick cash.

At SecondSpin.com you can search for your CD to find out how much you'll get. We tried "James Taylor's Greatest Hits" and depending on the year, the site will pay me anywhere from a nickel to $2.

For something more current—like Rihanna – the price range starts at a dollar but her "Good Girl Gone Bad" bonus CD from 2007 will get you $9. And the collector's edition is going for $12.25.

If you prefer to sell in person, Sam Goody at Horton Plaza will also buy your used CD's for cash, starting from about 60-cents to three or four dollars. It's best to go on weekdays, either in the morning when the store opens at 10am, or midday.
