Woman ejected from car after rollover crash on I-5

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Good Samaritans jumped into action to save a woman along Interstate 5 overnight. Several people rushed into action within moments of the woman crashing her car and being ejected. One man also lifted a large fallen tree to rescue her.

Police officers reported that the woman lost control of her car along northbound I-5 near the West Washington Street exit. She careened through a fence and ended up at the bottom of an embankment.

At that time, several people rushed to help, but it took them a while to find her.

"We found her under the trunk of the tree. There's a wonderful man who lifted the branch, the big tree up, and I held her head and she was able to breathe, which was good,” said one witness, Jerome Mostero.

Firefighters showed up a few minutes later and rushed the woman to the hospital.

As of this report, her condition is not known. The crash remains under investigation.
