SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The El Cajon police officer who was shot in the head during a deadly domestic dispute has been released from the hospital.
28-year-old Jarred Slocum was shot during a firefight with Kevin Collier last Sunday at the home of collier's mother-in-law on Prince Street.
The bullet struck Slocum's left temple and traveled around his skull, critically injuring him.
El Cajon police say Slocum is doing better, and will continue his recovery at home.
Investigators believe Collier murdered his one-year-old daughter and mother-in-law before killing himself.
