NEW YORK (AP) - Junior Seau would consider returning to the Patriots if they again come calling this season.
The 40-year-old linebacker told The Associated Press on Tuesday he would sign only with New England because of his familiarity with the team. He's willing to play up to six games - any more would cut too much into his time with his children.
For now, the 12-time Pro Bowler who spent most of his career with the San Diego Chargers is busy shooting his new television series.
Seau came out of retirement for the second time last December to play four games for the injury-depleted Patriots. This time, he didn't make any announcements about his football future.
"I've learned not to say 'retirement,'" he said.
Seau has shot four of the planned 10 episodes for "Sports Jobs with Junior Seau," which is scheduled to premiere Dec. 2 on Versus. In the show, he tries out professions ranging from IndyCar pit crew member to LPGA caddie.
Seau said he keeps in touch with his former Patriots teammates but hasn't talked to any of the coaches or front-office staff.
