Insider tips on how to score the best spots to watch the play
Alissa Kacar is a social media host who covers the sport. Kacar shared some insider tips on the best ways for fans and spectators to watch the action at Torrey Pines.
First, Kacar says the most important thing is to find some comfortable shoes to wear for walking the course.
Once some good walking shoes are in place, then go online in advance and buy tickets and parking passes as there are no sales at the course on tournament days.
After you have tickets and parking taken care of, Kacar says to check this link for information on what gates open and for tee times for your favorite golfers. The link to tee times and player pairing will be posted prior to the first tee time here.
Kacar recommends upgrading your tickets to include the Canyon Club or the the Michelob Ultra Pass if you want seats, beverages, food and more importantly some shade.
And if cocktails are your thing, Kacar says Tito's Stillhouse Lound and the Maestro Dobel Tequilla Lounge on the South Course's 8th Green is a "perfect spot to watch golf, hang out and get cocktails," said Kacar.
As for the best spot to watch the event, Kacar recommends Hole 3 on the South Course for some incredible views of the Hole 3 green, the Hole 2 green and the Hole 3 teebox. The big "Farmers Insurance" marquee sign is also there for an all around great backdrop.
Kacar says there's more of the same at Hole 15 sans the marquee sign.
