SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The Chargers released their 2016 schedule on Thursday as they play another year in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium.
The Bolts begin the regular season with a game against a divisional opponent when they travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs on September 11th. Their September opponents also include the Jaguars and a trip to Indianapolis.
A notable opponent in October is a home game against New Orleans Saints and ex-Charger quarterback Drew Brees. The defending Super Bowl champions Denver Broncos come to town on a Thursday night and will be the team's only planned prime time appearance. The game will also be streamed live on Twitter.
The bye week takes place Nov. 20, after two back-to-back home games.
The Chargers defense is put to the test against Cam Newton and the Panthers on December 11th in Carolina. They play the Cleveland Browns on Christmas Eve and bookend their season with a final home game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
CBS 8 is set to broadcast 12 out of the 16 regular season Charger games as well as 3 preseason games.
