SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Chargers running back Ryan Mathews has reportedly signed a 3-year, $11.5 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to a tweet from ESPN reporter and NFL insider Adam Schefter, Mathews and the Eagles have officially reached an agreement - which includes $5 million guaranteed.
The Associated Press is reporting from sources that the deal is pending on Mathews having a physical.
The Eagles recently released LeSean McCoy, who was traded to Buffalo.
Mathews was the Chargers 2010 first-round draft pick, with the Chargers trading up 12 spots to get him.
In 2013 Mathews ran for 1,255 yards and scored seven total touchdowns but has been plagued with injuries throughout his career with the Chargers.
He was limited to only 6 games last season with an ankle injury. He has played a full season just once.
