SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A new animation of a proposed football stadium in Carson was recently released, and it is narrated by Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland.
The video bills itself as a venue that would return football to Los Angeles, and in style.
The video was posted by Raider Central and it says it's courtesy of Goldman Sachs.
The video presents a stadium that would be easily accessible from major freeways, and would include special VIP lanes. Outside of it, fans would be able to watch other games on jumbo screens.
The plan includes a NFL campus with a football field just for fans. Fans would still be able to enjoy tailgating. A farmers market is also included in the plan.
The stadium would be able to accommodate 65,000 people.
For premium fans, the design would offer the NFL's largest on field package that would blur the line between spectator and teammate.
Sean Farrell who is with the group 'Save Our Bolts' and also runs the group 'You Know You're a Chargers Fan When,' said it's another step in the wrong direction.
"Overall, it's sad. It's another blow. It's sad they are pitching this to the NFL trying to move and turn their back on San Diego," he said.
Online the video has gained momentum and has people talking, leaving many with mixed feelings.
Adam Greene said it looks great. "No wonder the Chargers want to leave," he said.
Sal Beas said he hates it. He's annoyed by it.
"To see them in another city would be like running into ex-girlfriends. I mean, there's still some feelings there, but it's just not gonna be my number one anymore," he said.
