SAN DIEGO — One person is dead in Oak Park after being hit by a car.
According to San Diego Police, a medic saw the male pedestrian in the roadway and called it into dispatch around 4:30 am Thursday. The driver who hit the person remained on scene and is cooperating with police. Police say they do not expect any charges to be filed against the driver.
Investigators say the victim appears to be a male in his 50's.
SDPD talked to CBS 8 about the investigation saying, "Things are not adding up." Investigators are looking to see if another vehicle hit the victim before first.
Authorities also say a pill bottle was found in the middle of the intersection which was marked as evidence by investigators. Currently they are seeing if the pill bottle is connected to the victim.
Police closed 54th Street between Redwood and College Grove Drive for many hours. The roadway was reopened a little before 11 am.
