The pandemic is changing the way we travel and San Diego International Airport is giving a behind the scenes look at how people will be kept safe while catching a flight.
Authorities at the airport say they won’t be taking any chances this holiday season. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport saw a steep decline in travelers, but now they are seeing a slight rise of people flying in and out of San Diego.
A spokeswoman said, “Admittedly we are not at normal yet, but we are seeing an increase in passengers and we do anticipate over the holiday season seeing more passengers. Right now we are about 66%-67% down from where we were last year, but back in April when most of all travel was halted we were down 95%.
The airport highlighted its “Let’s Go Safely” campaign that is meant to highlight changes to safety measures that will keep travelers safe.
For travelers that travel out of the state of California, Newsom recently issued a travel advisory asking those people to quarantine when they return to California for two weeks.
