SAN DIEGO — Sunshine and warmth will continue on Friday afternoon in San Diego County as periods of weak Santa Ana winds remain active. Though this is not a strong wind event, we should still be mindful of these conditions. A few brush fires have broken out this week due to the dry vegetation and inland air in the afternoon.
A more unsettled, active stretch of weather will bring us more passing clouds and a chance of showers as early as Saturday night and into the beginning of next week. While it's proving to be intense toward Northern California, this storm will weaken tremendously on its way down to Southern California.
High pressure will be swapped out for an area of low pressure over the weekend. Clouds will build throughout the day on Saturday ahead of the system as winds start to pick up. As the system closes in, models suggest a chance for light to moderate rain showers this weekend through early Wednesday morning. It looks to be on-again, off-again activity during this time frame.
FRIDAY TEMPERATURES:
Overnight low temperatures will continue to cool down well below normal with widespread 30s and 40s before the midday warm-up arrives, so dressing in layers is suggested.
SEASONAL (AVERAGE) DAYTIME HIGHS:
- Coastal highs near 69 to 71 degrees
- Inland valley highs near 72 degrees
- Mountain highs near 57 degrees
- Desert highs near 77 degrees
AT THE COAST:
Shower chances will dry up as high pressure moves in by Thanksgiving Day. We'll still see passing clouds mixed in with our sunshine with near to slight below seasonal temperatures.
