SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A would-be robber made a failed attempt Wednesday afternoon to steal cash from a Pacific Beach bank, authorities reported.
The man passed a demand note to a teller at the Bank of America branch in the 900 block of Garnet Avenue at about 12:45 p.m., according to San Diego
police.
Instead of giving the man money, the clerk, who was behind bulletproof glass along with co-workers, tripped an alarm.
Patrol personnel arrived minutes later and took the man into custody without incident, Officer Joshua Hodge said. The suspect's name was not
immediately available.
No customers were in the bank during the crime, Hodge said.
