SAN DIEGO —
Thousands of animals won’t go hungry this holiday season, thanks to a generous donation.
The 20th-annual “Home 4 the Holidays” campaign received a large donation from Blue Buffalo on Thursday. The pet food company is donating 230,000 lbs of pet food to San Diego and New York City organizations, according to Jessica Gercke, the PR and Communications Director of the Helen Woodward Animal Center.

The meals are going to approximately 60 pet rescues. Locally, these groups include Volunteers in Defense of Animals, Lionel’s Legacy, The Barking Lot, Coastal German Shepard Rescue, Kitty Bungalow, Rovers Retreat, Love Your Feral Felines, Rescuing Cujo, Cat Adoption Services, The Animal Pad, Happy Hearts German Shepard Rescue, AV Dalmatian Rescue and others.
