Crews knock down small structure fire along I-8 in Alpine amid fire concerns across San Diego

A Fire Weather Watch was issued by the National Weather Service for portions of San Diego County from Wednesday night through Friday evening.

ALPINE, Calif. — Firefighters halted the spread of a roughly three-acre brush fire Monday alongside Interstate 8 at Willows Road in Alpine, according to Cleveland National Forest officials. Meanwhile, a Fire Weather Watch was issued by the National Weather Service for portions of San Diego County from Wednesday night through Friday evening due to strong wind gusts and low humidity.

Monday's residential fire broke out in the 1400 block of Viejas View Lane in Alpine, according to fire officials.
