SAN DIEGO — A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck off the coast of San Diego early Monday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake was first reported at 2:44 a.m. Monday and was 66 miles southwest off the coast of La Jolla and 67.4 miles southwest of Coronado.
No reports of damage or injuries were initially reported.
Early in December, a pair of earthquakes struck Imperial County near Ocotillo. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first earthquake hit around 8:11 p.m. Tuesday, December 5 with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5. The second hit roughly 20 minutes later nearby and had a 3.7 preliminary magnitude.
