Follow their journey as CBS 8's team documents the sights and sounds from Las Vegas leading up to Super Bowl LVIII on Feb 11, 2024.

LAS VEGAS — CBS 8 is in Las Vegas!  There is always excitement in the week leading up to the Super Bowl LVIII, so we sent CBS 8's Jake Garegnani, Marcus Greaves and Jeff Zevely out to Las Vegas to check out all the sights and sounds as the city hosts the big game for the first time.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be representing the AFC after beating the Baltimore Ravens 17-10. Representing the NFC will be the San Francisco 49ers after they beat the Detroit Lions 34-31.

The game will be played near the south end of the strip at Allegiant Stadium, nicknamed the "Death Star" by the Las Vegas Raiders owner based on how its shape and black colors resemble the space station from Star Wars.
